The Elemental Plane of Sand has many similarities with the Plane of Air. Both are largely open sky with islands of material forming the base for the creatures that inhabit it.

These islands vary in both size and composition. The smallest of these islands span only 5-6 feet across, while the largest reach several miles. While the materials vary from one island to another, the materials that make up an individual island are fairly consistent. As the name of the plane would imply, the islands are composed of large masses of sand or gravel.

Due to the nature of the material these islands are made of, settlements are very rare and hard to maintain. Permanent structures are nearly unheard of, and those that do exist tend to be made of singular solid masses of material crafted by magic.

While these islands remain cohesive, gravity overall does pull in the same direction for all material on the plane other than that of the islands themselves.
