Notable Locations Locations in the Plane of Clay

Made of thick clay and mud of varying compositions, the Plane of Clay is not particularly interesting for most visitors. The plane is similar to the Plane of Earth in that it is mostly a solid mass with tunnels interspersed. Unlike many other planes, the Plane of Clay has very little in the way of intrusions from other elements (with Air being the notable exception).

While much of the plane is featureless walls with occasional tunnels, there is a region of the plane known as the Caves of Origin. Many creations myths on Thadar En include the gods creating mortal creatures from the elements of the earth, typically forming them from the clay of riverbeds. While there has been no concrete evidence of this, the Caves of Origin provide compelling evidence for the rare traveler than stumbles across them. These caves are a rare ordered region of the plane in that they are regularly spaced tunnels varying in height from 2-20 feet. Along the walls of these tunnels are humanoid shaped openings. These openings are typically 1-3 feet deep, and seem to be exact matches for humanoids, down to the fingers.
