Kosj was born in the oasis, and was very active in his exploration of the magical jungle hidden in the sand. More than anything he was mesmerized by the large and colorful insects that he found. The Egg Mother was quick to identify his burgeoning talent to commune with nature, and by the 2nd return of the tribe he could speak with mantis's and scorpions more fluently than he could with his own people. Kosj grew quickly, as lizardfolk do, and soon became a strong future prospect for both Leader and Guide for his people. Elders coddled him and tried to pull him to one roll or another, but Kosj became dissatisfied with the desert. He struggled to keep watch, or track food, when he was preoccupied daydreaming of insects from his childhood.

After a terrible scolding from the Leader for failing to track a meal the tribe needed, Kosj snuck out in the chilly desert, and used his magic to seek out the oasis. Meditating in the shade, Kosj was overwhelmed with indecision and self doubt. He could not choose which path to take for his tribe, and knew that with his distaste for the desert life, he would do poorly in both roles. It was a young hatching, with bright purple markings, yet to fade with age, that approached Kosj and gave him council. The charming toddler had a bit of wisdom for him, and he made up his mind to leave his people and his home, to explore the world and develop a discipline that would serve his people.

Now Kosj wanders, allowing his daydreams to carry him, lying awake at night hoping the next day he will focus on something more important than the crawling things
