{{Magic item}} is for use in any article about a magic item or artefact within the Pathfinder campaign setting. The parameters (except name) are optional. If left undefined they will not appear.

For mundane items, please use instead {{Item}}; for alchemical items, use {{Alchemical item}}; for technological items, use {{Technological item}}.

This template has been stripped down to include only those essential "crunchy" statistics, and those that are left enable reference against other magic items and easy sorting. All other crunchy details should be omitted.

Parameters

The initial word should usually be capitalized for each parameter.

image (optional)

A File link to an associated image. For example: [[File:Wayfinder.jpg|250px|A wayfinder]]. A width of 250px works well with infoboxes.

name (optional)

The italicized name of the magic item. Pretty straightforward.

traits (optional/2e)

The trait(s) of the item as listed. Rarity is important. Use the 2e trait template for this to create the correct boxes, for instance, {{2eTrait|Magical}}, which provides Template:2eTrait

aura (optional/1e)

The aura of the magic item as listed. For example: Strong conjuration

cl (optional/1e)

The caster level of the magic item as listed.

level (optional/2e)

The level of the item as listed.

type (optional)

Example: weapons, armor, rods, staves, wands, scrolls, potion, wondrous item, artefact

slot (optional/1e)

The slot the item occupies as listed. For example: "head", "chest", or "none", if it is a slotless item. Please see Core Rulebook (First Edition) 459 for a full list.

usage (optional/2e)

The usage of the item as listed.

origin (optional)

The geographical location in Thadar En with which the item is associated, for example: Absalom.

affiliation (optional)

The deity, item creator, or organization with which the item is associated, for example: Desna.
