Drakes are cousins of True Dragons. As such, they share many, but not all traits with other Dragonkin. At a brief glance, many drakes could be confused with young dragons; they have leathery scales and large wings that allow flight. Unlike True Dragons though, their wings also function as their forelimbs. Most drakes also have some form of breath weapon, but on a weaker scale than full grown dragons.
While true dragons typically posses great intelligence, drakes usually posses intellectual capabilities on par with wild pack animals such as wolves or hyenas.
Ecology
Drakes have much shorter lifespans than True Dragons, and as a result are more populous than them as well. They typically live in small family units of 4-7 individuals.
