Elemental is a very broad term referring to creatures composed of the Quintessence of the Elemental Planes. They can be found in a vast variety of sizes, from the size of a grape to a select few rivaling the largest creatures found on the Material Plane.
Anatomy
The physical form varies greatly from one type to another, but most take on either a bipedal or quadrupedal form when manifesting outside of their native plane. While on their home plane, it can often be difficult to distinguish from their environments, and most varieties can meld into materials similar to their elemental alignment. All elementals have a core, a central dense spot in their bodies that provides the creatures with a separation from non-animate masses of their element. If care is taken, the core can be extracted from the elemental (killing it in the process) and used as reagents in a variety of magical applications.
