When mortals die a suffer a gruesome death, their souls are drawn towards the Plane of Corruption. While many miss the mark and pass to other planes or the Positive Energy Plane, those that do manage to pass into the Plane of Corruption are slowly transformed into Daemons.
The species of Daemon that a soul transforms into is determined by their manner of death. Generally, Daemons are very violent creatures that use their moderate intelligence to attack prey.
