Necromentals are the result of infusing an Elemental Core with vast amounts of Negative Energy. These creatures are rarely created intentionally, as no manner of magical control has proven to be effective.
Anatomy
Necromentals typically resemble the elementals that they were formed from, with changes to the base element best described as "rot". As an example, Fire Necromentals often appear as if they are burning impurely, emitting thick black smoke and the rancid smell of burning flesh and hair.
